Two-Story Deck & Screened Lower Level

A two-level outdoor build on the back of a home: an upper deck framed with horizontal black railing sits over a screened lower-level porch, with a run of exterior stairs connecting the deck down to the yard. The timber structure is stained to match and tied cleanly into the house.

Stacking a deck over a screened porch takes the framing, the posts and the stair structure all done right — the meticulous detail Taylor is reviewed for, where "every bit of this project" was thought through. The result is two usable outdoor rooms where there was one.
